Last word on poppies

I wasn't going to say another word about poppies but then they went and demanded my attention and admiration for suddenly deciding to go all funky frilly and ruffley and then looking even more gorgeous for being surrounded by quick growing Ammi Majus. Sigh.

Elsewhere in the garden the sweetpeas are finally romping away and smelling heavenly,

and the drumstick alliums are looking rather stylish in bouquets and popping up through dark sedums.

  1. Hi, I love your garden combos. The allium with the black sedum, the dark poppies with the ammi ( i didn't know anyone other that me knew what ammi was!) . And the sweet peas, a flower impossible to grow in our climate.

    Well done!

  2. Thanks!Ammi is a bit of a new discovery for me, also looks lush with black cornflowers growing through it. There's this other ammi - visnaga "green mist" which looks stunning but it isn't very easy to get over this side of the pond.

Love your blog - hopeless to read on an empty stomach though, immediately feel famished and raid the kitchen!
