A poppyfull of sunlight

is there anything more lovely than a poppy filled with sunlight?

is there?

the toes of a newborn baby may take the prize, but honestly these sunlit poppies are hard to beat (even with bugs on!).

  1. Beautiful poppies. Sunlight showing through any petals is a joy.

  2. You mesmerize me with your photos of flowers.

  3. That last photo is stunning. Hope all's good with you. I'm pleased to be able to comment again as blogger has been very unkind and stopped me from saying anything. Or maybe that was you...!!! Ax

  4. So gorgeous, they look like they have been crafted from the finest silk.

  5. Hello Belinda:
We agree totally. In fact, we should count the rather blowsy herbaceous poppies as amongst our favourite perennials and used to grow many of them. Your images are wonderful.

  6. Nothing, except your picture of one.

    xo J,

  7. Poppies are my favorite. I love the way you captured it in your photos!

  8. Hi Belinda,

They look stunning! Somehow they don't want to grow in my garden :-(

    Happy evening & lieve groet,

  11. Lovelier than mermaids' tresses or pink silk dresses... poppies will always steal the show! Stunning shots of stunning flowers, thanks for sharing. Jane Gray

  12. snap! We just had a week in Cornwall with the whole tribe, (14 of us and three dogs.) All staying in the family home in Cornwall, the water ran out half way through the week ( we are on a well.) In spite of us all having to beg showers wherever we could we all managed to smile through it!
Love the poppies, are yours repeat flowering? Mine were over long ago. Oh, and yes we are still pinching ourselves that we have bagged such a great spot!

    Sarah x
