november bloom day

I missed last month's bloom day over at May Dream's Gardens, so i thought i'd do a quick garden round up today.

Amazingly there has still been not a hint of a frost. This means lots of colour is still surviving in the flower beds, but the flowers look a little bedraggled and forlorn, as if they feel nostalgic for their younger, summery selves! Even the roses are budding, it's nutty but i'm enjoying the slightly crazed combination of falling leaves and budding summer flowers!

Day by day the leaves are falling, but there are still enough to make the heart sing a little.

Time for a little rake-ercise i believe!

  2. So much still flowering! The seasons are totally topsy turvy aren't they.

Very little in bloom here, which is a pity as I've signed up for Sue's year long Cut Flower challenge over at Backlane Notebook.

  3. Wow, what a showcase of colors and blooms! We're also experiencing the lovely unexpected blooms and even fraise des bois among the gorgeous foliage. After the killing heat this summer, I'm loving fall!

  6. So many flowers - such lovely color. It was a golden autumn here in NEW England - and now even that shimmer is gone.

  7. Gorgeous color! We're just starting to get some fall foliage here; love the way those red leaves almost look like seedpods. And I'm not sure what those first blooms are, but they're lovely.

  10. I am doing a lot of rake-ercise at the moment too...never know whether to leave them until they are all off the trees or rake them at regular intervals. Whichever way, they are a blooming nuisance!

  13. No frost here either and it's so nice to see some colour in the garden still though your trees look like they have a few more leaves on them then ours.....they are almost, completely bare.

Thank you for the warm wishes,

  14. Some beautiful things in your garden still - the seasons do seem to have gone a little awry, though. We are still desperate for some decent rain!
