Shifty winter - small stone 11

Shifty winter keeps pretending to be Spring.
Even the birds are singing along,
dancing in the hedgerows,
celebrating warmth and gentle days
that belong to Spring, not now.

I don't have such faith,
underneath this this season's velvet glove
there lies the bony claw of winter still.

  2. I agree, I feel uneasy with this pre-spring gentleness. I want ice and frost and then Spring to edge in at the proper time! jane x

  6. Climate change...in our political climate one party professes not to believe in its' existence.

They should talk to a a gardener or two.

  8. I completely agree.

Since September (last year) I've been completely thrown. It's almost as if our seasons are back to front. A cold and gloomy Summer, but mild and almost Spring like in the Winter. So strange.

Happy New Year Belinda - sorry it's late and the warmest of wishes for 2012.

take care and here's to a new year and your gorgeous blog. Can't wait to see what this year brings us.

  9. I fear the damage a hard frost might do ... surely we will get one soon.

The sky in that second picture is amazing, maybe you'd like to add it to the Project :: Sky 365 Flickr group? http://www.flickr.com/groups/1856130@N20/
