On their way

People, they are in the building (well, garden).

The purple divas, many of them, have arrived.

Alliums, of different varieties, just about to bloom.

Bring it on, we need some glamour in this infernal grey gloom we are having.

More photos to follow when they are fully strutting their stuff. xx

  3. Hurrah!! And the party doesn't get started til the alliums arrive! Think they are a fave of mine. I planted some allium bulbs on mid March and have still seen nothing. Think mine are sulking. Xxx

  4. I love alliums! Wish mine would come out but that would mean the tulips had gone over...

  6. GG planted sprouting onions last fall and now we have the common but still very exciting white allium.

  7. What an antidote to the grey!! Stunning shots. I love alliums and have a row at my plot. No sign of them yet. Maybe they just need an extra drop of rain!!

  11. You purple diva's look just beautiful Belinda! Due to the rain I haven't been to my garden all week. Hopefully I will find some time this weekend. If only to see if my purple diva's are in bloom too :-)

    Happy weekend!

  12. I totally enjoyed the alliums! Brought both purple and pinkish into the house for several days. Hope they multiply.

Question: the bachelor's buttons and Lily of the Mist are blooming their heads off. How much do I need to cut them to keep them growing. I feel like an "annual virgin" - I don't know how to tend them. thanks!

Two questions: The stock are quite short (6-8 inches maybe). Will they get taller over time? But, I need to keep cutting them, too. Right? thanks.

  13. Fab photos Mrs! Thinking there is a distinct lack of anything colourful in the garden and that I may just have to add a few varieties of these to the ever increasing wish list. Being a jolly and bright plant even in dull weather clearly is a must-have.
